About NRCCFI
Building on the work of The Federal Resource Center for Children of Incarcerated Parents which was funded by NIC from 2001 to 2006 and hosted by the Child Welfare League of America, The National Resource Center on Children and Families of the Incarcerated at FCN will continue to gather and disseminate information and link people with others that are living with or working on the impact of incarceration on children and families.
The Resource Center at FCN will be a source for information about and technical assistance to programs, agencies and organizations working with children and families of the incarcerated. The Resource Center will also serve as a connection between and among programs and services and will produce materials that will aid in advocacy and service delivery initiatives.
The NRCCFI will provide current information about research, programs, practices and policies related to providing services to children and families of the incarcerated via it’s website at www.fcnetwork.org and soon through a comprehensive listserv network. The Resource Center will also integrate information exchange into FCN”s other services and focus specific issues of the FCN Report as well as Training-by-Telephone and Site-Based Trainings on issues, concerns and strategies that come to the Resource Center from the children and families of the incarcerated and from community and government agencies that provide services to them
